About a decade ago, at Christmas time, my father gave me The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. Since then I've always remembered as a pleasant and very intelligent book, for which I feel still a mixture of affection and nostalgia. The debate between film and books is as old as the same except for some fine art and eighth occasion often resolves in favor on paper. I do not believe to be a fundamentalist thing, but this film is yet another disappointment of loyal readers and hopeful.
