Another film that contributes to the glory of Keria Knightley, actress so beautiful (and in some cases fairly good), but starts a bit 'to simmer with the attitude "Prezzemolina.
In a summer day in 1935, the thirteen year old Briony Tallis reads a letter sent Robbie Turner (James McAvoy) to his sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) and confused by what he has read and seen the same evening, the boy accused of raping his cousin fifteen. Their paths diverge, Robbie goes to prison and then ends enlisted in France, Cecilia becomes a nurse severing all contact with family, Briony decides to follow the path of his sister, although there is no longer a link to unite them. What will become of their destinies, so divided as united by a tragic error of childhood and so difficult to reconcile?
Joe Wright, a young British director in his second film after Pride and Prejudice, choose another adaptation from a famous book (though I have not yet, read). This time the film look better and it leaves a film more mature and successful, thanks to a subject more interesting and I think a wiser use of the medium, as evidenced by the beautiful and everywhere the plan in order set on the beach at Dunkirk. Even the choice of telling certain facts twice, to provide different versions of the narratives of those who lived them, is a welcome choice, though not particularly original. To support the evidence of Wright, however, attention should be fine and with a cast, especially in the case of James McAvoy, a discovery for me. It should be noted, finally, the beautiful Italian Dario Marianelli soundtrack, which accompanies the film without being intrusive.
