Personally, Iron Man was never one of my favorite heroes, house for Marvel, having always been more fond of figures such as Peter Parker, rather than Tony Stark. Jon Favreau mi aveva inizialmente fatto dubitare del progetto, ma alla fine mi sono dovuto ricredere. Quello che intendo dire è che per la prima volta il film che scorre sullo schermo è davvero una trasposizione del fumetto creato da Stan Lee. Negli altri casi, anche illustri (leggi i film di Raimi o di Singer), c'era sempre qualcosa che impediva la sinergia tra le strip e le scene. Non so se il merito sia davvero di Favreau, del quale sinceramente non smetto di dubitare, ma rimane il fatto che Iron Man è un film di intrattenimento in piena regola. Il film scorre veloce e divertente per tutta la sua durata, senza insistere too much on the usual existential questions or moral force. And the only action scenes, well, do their dirty duty.

Spiderwick - Chronicles

Non sarà un film trascendentale, ma il mondo delle cronache di Spiderwick tutto sommato fa il suo dovere come film di intrattenimento, anche per gli adulti (pochi) in sala. E a questo punto poco importa se i dilemmi esistenziali e i problemi familiari rappresentati hanno la consistenza di un tovagliolo, quello che importa è salvare il libro e sconfiggere l'orco.
